Deedles and the DRLC
Dear Friends,
As a singer and pianist, I have dedicated most of my life to entertaining people. I am blessed that my talents have not been affected by my blindness, but for others in the disability community, the struggle for accommodations has not been easy. I know this firsthand.
I am proud to be the first national spokesperson for the Disability Rights Legal Center, located in Los Angeles, California. The DRLC, as it is called, is an organization dedicated to promoting the rights of people with disabilities. They work to ensure that people with disabilities are included in all aspects of life—in work and play and school—with accommodations that erase the barriers of participation.
Access is equality, whether that access is Braille, sign language interpretation, a ramp, or the ability to attend school and learn in a different way.
Please join me in supporting the work of the Disability Rights Legal Center—an organization that is eliminating the “pity model” of people with disabilities and replacing it with a model of ability and accomplishment.

Best wishes,
Diane Schuur
